Jean and her husband, Tony, own DAGS and Bertie Jean’s Foods. Tony makes the Ice Cream and Jean is the cook and runs the catering business.

They opened this location 2 years ago in April, 2007. They owned and operated DAGS  in Brown County for 12 years prior to opening this location. For the 2 years prior to opening the store, Jean worked as a personal chef cooking meals in the homes of her clients in Columbus.

There are always chicken salad sandwiches and pints  of chicken salad in the store, as well as salads and homemade soups.  There are always four types of soups in the case. Bertie Jean’s soups are made with low sodium and no msg broth and contain all fresh ingredients. You can request ham sandwiches with cheese and egg salad as well as tuna, when available.
